Sean Hannity assured his weary audience this week that it doesn't matter if Trump gets indicted and convicted because he can still run for President as a felon. That may be true, but most Americans probably wouldn't be ok with the idea of a felon who mishandled nuclear documents having power again. But the really interesting part is that even Hannity seems to think Trump can't get out of this. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump's close friend and ally, Sean Hannity has already started changing his tune about the possible legal troubles that his good friend Donny could be in on his radio program this week. Sean Hannity tried to assure his audience that don't worry folks. Even if Donald Trump gets popped with felony charges and gets convicted, he can still run for president. So, you know, he, he may end up back in the white house after all. Here's what handed said, even crimes potentially far more serious than what is being alleged potential mishandling classified information. Doesn't stop somebody from seeking the presidency. If they think that they're going to somehow make this about Donald Trump and prevent him from running from office. Uh, well, they obviously have not read something called the constitution because the constitution is pretty clear on what qualifies one to be able to run for president. So haha checkmate, libs.

We got no problem putting a convicted felon at the top of our presidential ticket because that's totally gonna work out really well for Republicans, right? Sean now to his credit, which is something I'll probably never have to say again, Sean Hannity is right. Is painful to say that, but Sean Hannity is, is right. Yes. You can be a convicted felon and run for president. You can have a felony record and run for president. You could be sitting in a prison right now and run for president of the United States. There's nothing that excludes you from doing that for the record. It's the same thing with members of Congress, even a member of Congress who gets convicted of a crime while serving that doesn't necessarily kick them out of office. They would have to actually have a vote to kick them out, even if they're sitting in prison.

So yeah, uh, we got some pretty lax rules here in the United States about who can serve an office and for good reason, too, right people, the, the purpose of prison is to rehabilitate people. So there are plenty of people who have served their time for felony convictions that go on to leave perfectly normal and successful lives. And those people should not be excluded from running for office. And so that's why we do not put that caveat in there because that would be unfair to these individuals. Even if that individual happens to be Donald Trump, not that he's gonna learn a lesson, even if he is convicted, but the real story here is not just, nity trying to say, haha, he can still run. It's the fact that Sean Hannity based on what I read there, um, kind of seems to think that Trump's gonna get popped with a felony conviction, right? Not just charged but convicted. Like that's the big part is nity is out there trying to tell people don't worry. Even if they send him to jail, he can still run because now that's apparently a thing we conservatives have to think about Sean. Nity

I believe my opinion here, but I believe thinks Donald Trump's gonna go to jail in hell. If you've lost Sean Hannity, you've lost control of everything. But I, I gotta tell you, I would love, I would love for the Republicans to put Donald Trump at the top of that ticket as he's sitting in a jail cell, that would be the funniest thing in all of American history. Right? Could you imagine Donald Trump's not able to do rallies he's in his orange jumpsuit. I'm sure they'll let media into the prison every now and then for him to do addresses to the media and he'll have to wear his little orange jumpsuit talking to his supporters, talking about how he is gonna make America great again from behind bars. Maybe they'll let him even zoom in, uh, for the Republican presidential debates, right? You'll have all the other candidates on stage.

You'll have your, your Nicky Haley's and your Josh Hollys and Chris Christie and Ted Cruz. And then there'll be a TV screen with Trump in an orange jumpsuit, participating in the debate. Um, I'd love to see it. So I hope Sean Ty's little vision here becomes a reality because nothing would be funnier than Republicans running a convicted felon who would be convicted by the way of mishandling classified documents.
