Biden's Education Department Takes On Pro COVID Governors
Published at : September 04, 2021
The US Department of Education has announced that they are looking into multiple different avenues to get around state bans on mask mandates for five different Republican-controlled states. However, none of the states are the ones in the South that have been making all the headlines - Florida and Texas have been excluded from the list for some reason. Perhaps the administration is hoping to go after the smaller fish before taking on the big ones? Ring of Fire's farron Cousins discusses this.

The Biden department of education has finally decided to take to task the states that have implemented bans on mask mandates for children in schools, specifically, according to reports, this probe is going to determine whether the bans violate parts of the rehabilitation act of 1973 and the Americans with disability act that forbid discrimination based on a person's disabilities, and that give all students the right to free public schooling. The states that they're looking into as part of this probe, Iowa, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Utah, notice how I didn't say Texas or Florida or Mississippi or Arkansas, you know, places that are really reeling from those bans on mask mandates. But, uh, okay. I mean, sure. This is, this is a good step forward, right? Kind of missed the mark though. I'm going to be honest with you, kind of missed the mark and that's what's so infuriating about this Biden administration. Right? You get news, you see the damage because I'm down here in Florida, you know, neighbors with all these other Republican controlled Southern states, we see the damage that the bans on mask mandates do.
And here comes the Biden administration saying, all right, we told you we were going to step in. We're stepping in here. Uh, Utah, straighten your up. And Utah actually responded and said, we actually don't even have a ban on mask mandates. So, you know, we'll work with you, whatever you need. But we, we didn't ban mask mandate. I mean, how, how wrong, how wrong can this administration continue to get it here? Now I have defended for the most part, the actions that this administration has taken during this pandemic, I think most of them have been good if not a little, you know, short-sighted. But this is a dumb decision. Not to mention the fact that nobody has banned people wearing masks. So you're challenges saying we're going to see if this violates whether or not you're discriminating against people with disabilities. No, it doesn't. I can tell you that off the top of my head, because they didn't ban the wearing of masks. If someone has a disability, they can still wear it. You went about this the wrong way. God bless.
I didn't think I'd be getting this angry with this administration this quickly. But here we are, because this is a dumb decision. They're going about it a really stupid way and it me me off. You want to go after these individuals, you use the justice department, not the education department. They shouldn't be out there having to fight these battles and conducting these investigations. They've got other things to work on. You use the justice department to challenge the authority of these governors under their own state laws saying that they do not have the authority to override local government decisions in the case of health, safety and welfare. That's how you do it. But instead you went the stupid route. You're making an argument that is very easy for these states to defend themselves against. And you're picking states that in some cases didn't even put bans on mask mandates in place. I don't know what the hell they're doing, but they're certainly not doing everything they should be to protect children in this country.
